This page points to a YouTube video which explains how to create a Route in OutdoorActive.
The video is roughly ten minutes long.
Once you have created your route you can follow it in OutdoorActive using your smartphone.
OutdoorActive is free but if you upgrade to Pro you will have access to Ordnance Survey maps which can be useful for Route planning.
You don't need OS maps for following Routes.
